What is Reiki?
Reiki is a traditional Japanese practice, which treats the mind, body and spirit through the gentle application of hands-on or distance healing. Founded by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, “Universal life force energy” travels through the attuned person to go where it is needed, promoting natural healing, stress reduction, and relaxation into each person’s life. Rei which means “God’s wisdom or Higher power” and Ki which means “Life force energy in Japanese. Reiki is known to release physical and emotional blockages, bring healing and relief to areas of illness or pain, and aid in a greater clarity and awareness.
FAQ:
Q: Do I have to do all the levels?
A: No, Reiki is about following a path to which you are drawn to. Honor yourself, first and foremost.
Q: Why do you split the sessions over multiple weeks instead of completing all at once?
A: Traditionally, Reiki is taught over years not weeks, as it takes time for the practitioner to go through their own energetic shifts and learning curves. We become better practitioners when we can practice on others, receive treatments, and experience and apply Reiki Healing in our everyday lives. By splitting the course over multiple weeks, we allow time for questions to formulate and shifts to begin to take place. We took the time to do the work so let’s experience the benefits fully – mindfully, energetically and soulfully!
Q: What happens when each level is finished, and you receive a certification?
A: You might feel different as you have experienced an attunement(s). By then you have worked through some of your own shifts and learned to connect to “life force energy”. Experience is the best teacher when it comes to learning how to center yourself and channel healing for yourself or others, so the more you can practice, the more you will learn. We can help you, if becoming a practitioner is the path you choose!
